Ingredients

For 1/2 pound fudge you will need:

1 pkg. (12 oz.) milk chocolate chips
1 cup sweetened condensed milk (recipe below) or use purchased
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup chopped walnuts

Sweetened Condensed Milk: Heat 3/4 cup sugar and 1/3 cup water until sugar has dissolved. Add 1/4 cup butter or margarine. Stir until butter is melted. Heat to a boil. Put 1 cup nonfat dry milk powder into blender or food processor with steel blade in place. Process until smooth while adding butter mixture. Cool. Cover and refrigerate or use immediately to make the fudge. Makes 1 cup.

Directions

Put chocolate chips in top of double boiler. Place over hot (not boiling) water. Stir until melted.

Add condensed milk, butter and vanilla. Blend until butter is mixed into the chocolate. Stir in nuts.

Spread into lightly oiled 4-by-8-inch loaf pan or 8-inch square pan. Cool until set and firm. Cut into squares.

Comments

Creamy and smooth, yet quick to make, this fudge owes its texture to sweetened condensed milk.
