This is a savory appetizer version of a favorite concoction made with crisp rice cereal.
Ingredients
For 24 bars you will need:
1 cup soft butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups (4 to 5 oz.) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Dash cayenne pepper
1 1/2 cups crisp rice cereal
Directions
Cream butter with the cheese. Blend in flour and cayenne pepper. Mix in cereal.
Press into buttered 8-or 9-inch cake pan. Bake at 375?F for 15 to 20 min. or until crisp.
Cool Cut into bars. Serve warm or cold.
Comments
Covered, these appetizers can be stored, refrigerated, for several days. They are good hot or cold. Serve them also as accompaniments to soups or salads.
